Ian is an experienced teacher of acting, verse-speaking, practical approaches to Shakespeare and audition technique. With a BA (1st) in Drama & Theatre Arts from The University of Birmingham and an MA (Dist.) in Shakespeare & Theatre from The Shakespeare Institute , University of Birmingham, Ian brings sound academic rigour along with a wealth of performance experience to all his classes, workshops and masterclasses.

Ian has taught for over 100 institutions, universities, colleges and Drama schools both in the UK and internationally including The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, The Central School of Drama, Rose Bruford College, The Brit School, The University of Zurich, The University of Heidelberg and Cambridge University. As an Education Associate Practitioner for The Royal Shakespeare Company  Ian worked with a huge range of schools and university groups on practical approaches to performing Shakespeare . As a workshop leader for The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust , Ian worked with a range of overseas groups - both student and Adult groups on how to interpret and act in Shakespeare.

Ian also works with individuals on Drama school entrance as well as a Public Speaking Coach.

Ian was Head of Acting at St. Mary's University London for two years.
